A strong cold front will sweep from west to east across the coastal waters late today through Thursday. There will be fresh to strong southwesterly winds ahead of the front and northerly winds after the passage. Isolated thunderstorms may also accompany the front. An extra large northwest swell will generate large seas tonight through Friday for exposed waters. High pressure system moving far north of the islands will bring back easterly trade winds across Hawaiian waters from Friday through Sunday.
