FZUS56 KSGX 131844 CWFSGX Coastal Waters Forecast for California National Weather Service San Diego CA 1144 AM PDT Mon Oct 13 2025 San Mateo Point to the Mexican border out 60 nm 1144 AM PDT Mon Oct 13 2025 .Synopsis for the far Southern California coast... Around 12 Noon, a 1003 was over Northern California while an area of high pressure was 900 nautical miles west of Cape Blanco, Oregon. A robust eddy will continue today, with brisk winds paralleling the coastline near 20 knots. Stronger southerly winds will develop late tonight and peak Tuesday morning into early afternoon with winds near 30 knots, where a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all waters. A front with a distinct wind shift from southerly to westerly will move west to east across the coastal waters Tuesday afternoon. Additionally, there is a slight chance of thunderstorms late Tuesday morning and early afternoon in the outer waters around San Clemente Island northeast toward Catalina. Any thunderstorm could produce briefly gusty, erratic winds, choppy seas, and lightning.
