At 2 PM, a 1029 mb high was over south central Colorado and a 992 mb low was 400 nautical miles west of San Francisco. Slight chance (10%) of thunderstorms this afternoon along with a heavy rain band moving from west to east. Winds will decrease below gale force late this afternoon, but remain hazardous to small craft through early Thursday. South to southwest winds strengthen slightly again late Thursday through Friday. Winds finally weaken and turn west by Saturday.
