At 1 PM, a 1030 mb high was 800 nautical miles west of Cape Mendocino and a 1006 mb low was over Needles. A 1009 mb low 200 nautical miles west of Punta Eugenia, Mexico, represented the decaying tropical cyclone Mario. The remnants of Mario will bring a slight chance of thunderstorms through Friday morning, with a greater chance Thursday starting in the early morning. Any storm could briefly produce lightning, gusty variable winds, and choppy seas. In the absence of storms, weak to moderate onshore flow from the west or northwest will prevail through Monday, except for southerly flow Thursday.
