FZHW50 PHFO 160109 CWFHFO Coastal Waters Forecast National Weather Service Honolulu HI 308 PM HST Thu Jan 15 2026 Hawaiian coastal waters within 40 nautical miles including the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary. 308 PM HST Thu Jan 15 2026 .Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters... A cold front over the southeast waters this afternoon will continue to progress southeastward overnight and exit the offshore waters on Friday. Moderate to fresh northerly winds will continue to fill in behind the front. An extra large northwest swell will generate large seas through Friday for exposed waters. A high pressure system moving far north of the islands will bring back easterly trade winds across Hawaiian waters from Friday through Sunday before winds weaken and veer southeasterly early next week in advance of another front.
