FZUS56 KSGX 180950 CWFSGX Coastal Waters Forecast for California National Weather Service San Diego CA 150 AM PST Wed Feb 18 2026 San Mateo Point to the Mexican border out 60 nm 150 AM PST Wed Feb 18 2026 .Synopsis for the far Southern California coast... At 1 AM, a 1026 mb high was 500 nautical miles west of Punta Eugenia, Baja California, and a 999 mb low was over the Great Salt Lake. Gales will continue this morning, generating hazardous boating conditions, before decreasing this afternoon. A band of thunderstorms will move through the waters through 8 AM. These thunderstorms are capable of producing lightning, very strong gusty winds and steep hazardous seas, reduced visibility in heavy rain, and waterspouts. After a lull in winds and seas, this afternoon into early Thursday, strong winds will redevelop Thursday, likely producing hazardous conditions again. Conditions will improve Friday and Saturday.
